Umānu is rooted in the Latin humanus — human — and carries within it the word manu — hand. Everything in this practice moves through the hands. It is where everything meets: the touch that grounds, the energy that moves, the presence that witnesses.
My path has been anything but straight, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. After years in the corporate world, burnout and depression forced me to stop and evaluate what I wanted out of life. I left my job and went to Mexico, in search for something more. On my birthday, I walked into my first holistic massage session and walked out a different person. During the session, I could feel energy moving, memories unlocking, emotions releasing, and absolute bliss. That one session changed my life forever.What followed was one of the most transformative journeys of my life. One that asked everything of me, and gave back more than I could have imagined. Guided by mentors and teachers, I spent six years studying massage therapy, somatic work, psychology and energy work, moving between traditional Western therapy and alternative modalities. What I found is that there is real strength in both worlds, and that the alternative route in particular remains deeply undervalued. But it is in the combination of the two where all the parts of being human — seen and unseen — finally come together.I want to help bridge the gap between the physical and the energetic, between the familiar comfort of touch and the profound intelligence of energy. Together, they are extraordinarily powerful. I want to create a space where you are truly held, supported, met, and gently guided through whatever unfolds, including the integration of what arises.
